A Calyon is a vampyric fae of sorts, one o the hundreds of kinds of those types of fae, actually. They're immortal, like any fae, and have the height and body type of human, along with the personality.

Their "fangs" come in two sets, one of the normal canies and a set behind that. They can have either membrane or feathered wings, seeing as they are not a specific branch off breed of fae. Along with the fangs they have claws and tend to walk on the balls of their feet, which over time has cause their heels to become elongated like a gargoyle, bastet, or lycanthrope.

Their powers and spells, being fae, are limitless, and like many types of fae they can shift to any form they choose as long as it is living (by fae standards, a rock is living as is sand, water, etc). While Calyons don't like to admitt it, they too have a chyrith form that they can and sometimes do shift in to. In this form they tend to be a tan color, and over all very plain looking, though they can shift into any breed (or mix of breeds) that they wish.

It is exceedingly rare for a chyrith and a calyon to get along. Infact, both species would rather see one another dead, and often show that by calyons hunting and slaying chyriths or chyriths raiding towns and cities and killing the calyons.

One curse that every Calyon carries, however, is their need for blood. Like some other forms of fae, Calyons have a lust for blood, but also need it to live. The blood of another (even a calyon) being keeps the calyon's body warm. If a calyon does not keep enough fresh blood in their body, they begin to become hard and cold, or "freeze" as they tend to call it. It will take a calyon a month of no blood to freeze completely, and then the calyon will go into a comatose state, their bodies white blue as if they were frozen and hard like marble. They will remain this way, forever asleep, until they are fed enough blood to fill their entire body and thaw them out.

Calyons break off into three ranks; noblebirth, hunterbirth, and wellbirth. Noblebirths are royalty or those sired by royalty, Hunterbirths the assasins and bounty hunters or those sired and taken in bu Hunters, and Wellbirth, the normal if not peasent calyons or those sired by these. For here the Noblebirths and Hunterbirths have specific families they belong to (lone hunters can be born from diffrent families, but it is rare). They are listed as follows

Hunterbirth Families

Strife- One of the largest Hunter families, at war with Jade. Famility color is a electric blue

Jade- The other largest Hunter family, at war with Strife. Family color is a deep green

Birch- One of the more solitary Hunter families, neutral. Known for most of their hunters being mute or antisocial (though often very polite). Usually masked. Family color is a bone white with black or grey here or there

Cobalt- Branch off of the Strife family, dislike Jade. Very charismatic and talkitive, sure of themselves in everything if not arrogant and vain. Family color is cobalt
