Spirit Chyriths are the oldest and rarest breed of chyriths. During the Cell-Pen revolution all but one died from either battles with the calyons, hunters, or the violence in the cells. The last remaining Spirit's name is Cerebus, and to this day he holds the creator of all Chyriths, the mad Suri, in bondage in the caverns of Sieca Mountain. Only two have seen this myth of a chyrith, and they are his son Lord Residue and Dream breed leader, Queen Mist.

Spirit Chyriths are the ancestors of Astral and Dream chyriths. Through way of cross breeding the Spirit Chyriths with Chaos and Harmony Chys, the two new breeds were born. This however would inevitably cause the downfall of Suri's reign and the Cell-Pen era.

Spirit Chyriths are by far one of the strongest breeds. The reason for this is that they control all of the Spirit elements, not just other planes like Astral chyriths and surreal states like Dream chyriths, They also are the only breed capable of an adult ability: Resurrection.

The original Spirit chyriths were the largest of the chyrith species, scaling up to thirty-six feet long and eighteen feet high. Their bodies were very well built, but like that of a puma's; not too muscular, not too thin. Their ears were very large and tufted, and their tail tufts were larger than their heads. Their noses were at a perfect medium of a round point, and they are known for being striped.

Spirits were a breed based on family, and a loner in the pens were rare. A Spirit would always have at least one other Spirit they could count on, if not a chyrith of another breed. A Spirit that had no one to watch it's back was considered untrustworthy, and would be shunned by others.

Now for a Spirit chyrith to exist an Astral/Dream mutt must be born. When a Dream and an Astral mate, the genes come together to create a Spirit mutt. This cub's genetics are not an exact match to the original Spirit breed, but so close that it is very hard to tell them apart. A mutt such as this is called a "2nd Gen Spirit". The only difference between the two breeds is size, for while a Spirit is the largest breed, a 2nd Gen Spirit is only as large as the largest Astral measurement.
